The cover of Money Magazine this month said, “Give Yourself A Raise.” My first thought was as Christians we already have a raise. Jesus Christ dying on the cross was our full provision, “our raise.”

Jesus freed us from the poverty curse. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”

It is through His abundant grace that we lack nothing.   God has promised in 2 Peter 1:2-3, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,”

You may currently be struggling with financial uncertainty, a loss of a job or a pay cut. Take comfort in knowing that you have an inheritance from God; promises of provision.
