“you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:5, 9-10
You are living stones, a royal priesthood, God’s special people, chosen and called.
Have you ever stopped to consider that God chose and called you? So you might be asking for what? Peter tells us it is to offer spiritual sacrifices and praises to God.
The spiritual sacrifices we are to make are to give God our spirit, soul and body.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1
You are to present yourself to God.
Mark tells us, “… to love Him (God) with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” Mark 12:33
