Why Lord?  Why?  There are many Patriarchs in the Bible that had a reason to speak these words….King David, Joseph, Daniel.    

David was anointed as King in his youth, yet was hunted down by King Saul for many years.

Joseph had a prophecy given to him over his life at a young age and out of jealousy, his brothers sold him into slavery and then he was thrown into prison.  

Daniel was from nobility and was taken by King Nebuchadnezzar into Babylon to serve him. 

It was by faith that these men were able to overcome.  “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

They kept their focus on God.  “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6
