Why am I suffering?

Why am I suffering? We ask the question to understand what we need to do to rectify the problem; to get out of our present tribulation. Why Lord? Our longing is to be healed; the situation fixed.

We expect if we are righteous in Christ we should be living the abundant life and protected by God.

Job’s response to his wife leads our eyes to be opened, “Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die! “But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity? In all this Job did not sin with his lips. Job 2:9-10.   Interesting to note is that both God and Satan said that Job was a righteous man.

“For it has been granted [gifted] to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him,” Phil 1:29. We have the privilege to suffer for Christ, to become one in fellowship.

Lord, make us a people that we do not focus on the present tribulation, but we can focus on the hope of your glory. Open our hearts to have a passion for what you have a passion for Lord.  I pray this in Jesus name.
