Our souls crave many things in this world and temptations come to us in many forms. But who are we living on? Who and what do we thirst for?
David says, “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?” Psalm 42:2
We have an undesirable thirst in our souls. Jesus says, “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
John 7:38 NIV.
We will be filled if we believe in Jesus.
John 6:35 says, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” Jesus satisfies our deep desires and cravings. Don’t be pulled by the things of this world. Live in the world, not of it.
“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
1 John 2:15-17 NIV
