Who are you hearing?

Can you tell the difference between God’s, the devil’s and your internal voice (human spirit)? They all can speak to you. So how do you know which one is speaking? After all, the devil can sound God-like; remember, he can turn himself into an angel of light (2 Cor 11:14).

There are three ways to determine the voice that is speaking.

  1.  Is what is being spoken lineup with the word of God (The truth)?
  2. Is the voice coming from your spirit, soul (will, mind and emotions) or heart? The devil has access to your mind; it is the battlefield. God speaks to our hearts and spirit.
  3. If you are getting a feeling to do something, check the source. God rarely talks to our emotions. After all, David, the Psalmist, used to have to tell his soul (will, mind and emotions) to get in line.

God say’s four times in scripture, “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion…” Psalm 95:7-8, Hebrews 3:7, 3:15, 4:7.

It is essential to hear God’s voice so you are not led astray, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10:27.
