Where is joy?

I was on a prayer call last week, and one of the participants prayed that a person would not lose their sense of humor. Did they mean joy? We can have a sense of humor, joke, laugh and then the moment is gone. Yet Joy is not fleeting. We can have joy in all situations.

Do you have joy? As I gaze upon people’s faces, I do not see joy. I see worry, anger, fear. Where has joy gone?

Joy is a manifestation of the spirit. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,” Galatians 5:22

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,” Revelation 14:17

If we are walking with the Lord, shouldn’t we have joy?   Yes, we should. However, we allow the day’s burdens to steal our joy away. What is the secret to not losing the joy that Christ has given us?

“fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. “Hebrews 12:2

No matter the situation we face, we can have Joy. If we keep our focus on Christ and follow His example.  Reflect Him today. Not only filled with joy but overflowing with Joy.
