Where Do You Find Shelter?
I grew up in the Cold War era. At school we would have air raid drills where we would line up in the hall, kneel over in a fetal position with head against the wall and hands on the back of our heads. As a young child I wondered how this would protect my back if something heavy were to fall on it.
During that time people had bomb shelters in their homes. I remember visiting different families and they would show off their bomb shelters. Our family never went to that extreme.
Today when we need emotional shelter, where should we look? God’s love letter to us is so comforting.
“Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I cry to You. When my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.”
