You may feel lost, numb, overburdened, or heavy in spirit when you lose someone. How do you cope? Some try to manage by drowning their sorrows in alcohol, locking themselves away, or keeping busy. Have you ever wondered what God desires you to do? After all, He came to heal the brokenhearted.
God’s word tells us, first of all, that Jesus understands what you are going through. “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death” (Matthew 26:38).
God desires that you take all your concerns and sorrows to Him. “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16. Pray and ask God to heal your heart, bind up the wounds, and lead and guide you on what He desires.
