There are many things in life that may make a person feel unsafe, even unsafe in their own home.
As I was watching my dog flip a turtle over continuously trying to get into the turtle’s closed shell, a thought occurred to me that at times in our lives we are like this turtle. We close our selves off with a hard exterior so we don’t get hurt. Most likely this is instinctive like this turtle and it is caused by past hurts such as abuse, intimidation, feeling belittled, being ignored, feeling betrayed, feeling rejected, feeling unsaf.
When we lift our feelings at that moment to God and say God do I need to fear? He will order your steps, guide and direct your path, “for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.” Proverbs 2:8
“Keep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from the violent, who devise ways to trip my feet.” Psalm 140:4
