What is your foundation built on?

There is a church located on an island in Slovenia on Lake bled. The church is built upon a pagan temple dedicated to the goddess Ziva, the goddess of love and fertility. When couples get married in the church it is custom for the groom to carry the bride to the Bell Tower (170 feet high) and ring the bell 3 times. If the groom is not able to do this, the belief is the couple will have bad luck.

Imagine starting out with false beliefs. However, many today have started out with the wrong foundation.

We need to build our foundation on Christ alone. “…everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” Mathew 7:24-25
