What happens when you die? There appears to be a lot of speculation, confusion in regard to what happens when a person dies.
First let’s look at the secular definition of death, “permanent cessation of all vital functions: the end of life.”
The Bible says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” John 5:24
There is a separation at death, “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was (body): and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” Eccl 12:7
There are some that will have eternal life and others that will perish, “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” Isaiah 59:1-2
