Weeding out the weeds

Weeding out the weeds

Weeds in our life. Weeds grow up in the most unexpected places. Weeding out the weeds can be long and strenuous. A weed is an undesirable plant or a plant in the wrong place.

We all have weeds in our life and some of the roots go down deep. The weeds prevent fruit from being produced. How do we get them out?

First, we must recognize the fruit, Galatians 5:22-25 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”

Second, we must rely on the Holy Spirit to show us what we can’t see. The word provides the reflection into our lives.

“Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” James 1:21
