Have You Weeded Your Garden Lately?
My yard has so many mini gardens in it that by the time I weed the first one and make my rounds back to it, the weeds have taken over again. I was thinking how we need to keep our spiritual gardens clean. Those weeds of disrespect, careless words, selfishness, and unforgiveness can grow very swiftly and spread if we do not pluck them out quickly.
Many times when we experience trauma these weeds tend to want a place in our spiritual garden. The best weed killer is inviting Jesus in to clean our heart. When He kills the weeds it brings the peace to our soul that we desire.
“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.”
Colossians 3:12-15 NKJV
