We all need grace. But what exactly is grace?
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
Grace in Greek is Charis meaning good will, lovingkindness, favor. Grace is a gift.
In order to sometimes understand the meaning of a word we look at the opposite. Grace is not works. Opposite of Grace is the law. We do not work for our salvation it is a gift from God. Jesus death on the cross brought grace to us. He took all sin on the cross and restored the relationship between God and ourselves. so that, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” Romans 6:14
