We have all gone astray…

I am amazed at how creative God is. He knows how to get to the heart of the matter.

The scenario, Gods people have gone astray again. So God decided to show his people by example what they have done to Him.

Hosea a prophet was instructed to marry a Harlot, Gomer.

Even after Hosea married Gomer she continued in her ways…. and some even after they have come into God’s kingdom, continue in their ways.
Hosea could represent God and Gomer us to depict the pain that we have inflicted upon God.

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23

Gomer became a slave to the sin of adultry. Hosea did as he was instructed, “So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:” Hosea‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We can hear these words being spoken as our Lord Jesus hung on the cross… I will buy her back…

“Christ bought us with His blood and made us free from the Law. In that way, the Law could not punish us. Christ did this by carrying the load and by being punished instead of us. It is written, “Anyone who hangs on a cross is hated and punished.” Because of the price Christ Jesus paid, the good things that came to Abraham might come to the people who are not Jews. And by putting our trust in Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit He has promised.” Gal 3:13-15
