Walk worthy

There are a couple of times in the Bible where Jesus says, “Sin no more”: to the disabled man at the pool of Bethesda and the woman caught in adultery. Jesus spoke the words to each with compassion and a warning. If you continue your current lifestyle, worse things will come upon you. Here, the Bible clearly shows us that sin can affect our health.

“Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” John 5:14

And to the woman caught in adultery, “Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

When Jesus comes into our lives, we should turn from our current lifestyle and walk worthy.

“We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory.” 1 Thess 2:12
