Twice scorned

Being ridiculed/rejected is difficult to bear. Many times the scorn comes from those we love and the pain is great.

Job experienced scorn, “My friends scorn me; My eyes pour out tears to God.” Job 16:20

Often we want to justify ourselves and find the cause to rectify the situation. What does the Bible say we should do?

“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19

“Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression…” Isaiah 1:17
