Troublesome Road

The Lord was leading. I had just finished speaking at a nursing home. As I got in the car, I heard the Lord say go this way. Not sure where He was leading, I obeyed.

As I drove, I would say do you want me to turn here, Lord? He directed me to continue to go straight. I was almost out of gas and had no cell phone coverage. As I was pondering the circumstances, there appeared a gas station. I felt a sense of relief and awe. God’s timing is always perfect. I filled up and asked the Lord which way. There was the main road I had been travelling on and a road in front of me called Troublesome rd. I thought He surely wasn’t going to take me down Troublesome rd. Then I heard a voice that said turn here. God wanted me to travel down Troublesome road. Oh, no, I had been down this road before. I said are you sure, Lord. He said yes, and I obeyed. The road was narrow and windy; however, my time with the Lord was rich and bountiful.

When we listen and obey where the Lord is leading us, even if the road is troublesome road, blessings will abound.

“A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray.” Isaiah 35:8
