The Stump

There it was in my front yard.  It was not appealing to look at.  The roots were so deep that I could not get it out.  The stump tainted the beauty around it.   Our lives are sometimes like this stump; roots of rejection, rebellion, bitterness, they are so deeply implanted that we need a tamping bar to get them out.

God is that tamping bar.  However, instead of coming down with force to pry out the root. He gently moves the surrounding dirt and exposes the problems.  Once exposed, it makes it easier to pull out the root.

“But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.”  Mathew 15:13 NKJV

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NASB.

“Also your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands That I may be glorified.”  Isaiah 60:21 NKJV
