The Right Word

When I was a young Christian at age 14, I took God’s word rather literally. Because of my misunderstanding of the scripture, I was in trouble as I gave a speech in class. Luke 12:12, states, “For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” I had the confidence to give a report in class with little preparation. That day I learned the importance of not taking a verse out of context. The report did not end well.

But we can depend on God to give us words when we are confronted because of our faith in Him. We do not have to be afraid that we will lack the knowledge or wisdom of what we should say.

“Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”                  Luke 12:11,12 NKJV
