Many proclaim that the Lord is their shield.
We see in Proverbs 2:7, “He is a shield to those who walk uprightly” and in Genesis 15:1 the Lord told Abraham“I am your shield, your very great reward.”
Deuteronomy 33:12 says, “Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.”
But what are we being shielded from?
As Christians, we have many enemies. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:12-13
