“Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed,” Isaiah 9:1

When I think of a gloomy day, it is when it is overcast and very little sun is shining. I am weathered down and heavy-hearted. The Jewish people were such a people, a people from the North, oppressors invaded them. Yet, a promise was given that there would be one who would come who would be the Light of our hearts, and he would break every yoke of burden (Isaiah 9:4)

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

This is the day we remember our Savior; God is with us (Immanuel). So, no matter what you are going through, if you focus on Jesus, He will shine in your heart and lift you.
