The Last Days

The last days

The category 5 hurricane was heading right for our house. We lived on the water at the time, and we knew that the direction of the winds, the time the storm would hit, and the tide would determine the severity of the impact we would face. We could choose to evacuate like most of our neighbours. But we were prepared to wait it out and assess the situation based upon the facts that were presented to us.

As we are in the last days, we need to be prepared to make the right choices. The Word of God is our survival guide. It provides us with the situational awareness to let us know what we need to do to withstand the storm.

“And Jesus answered and said to them: Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.  And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.  Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Mathew 24:4-14

Jesus gives us key indicators to watch for as the storm is before us. The most important thing to do now is to prepare ourselves, “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thess 5:23
