“Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:17, 20.

Jesus was saying, rejoice that you are rightly related to God. Many are trying to work their way into heaven.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Mathew 7:21-23

Paul knew the secret when he prayed for the Ephesians hearts to be filled with the full measure of Christ’s love (Ephesians 3:16-19).

Lord, heal our hearts and fill them to an overflowing of your love so we may know you, as you know us.

“Those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.” Isaiah 51:11
