Occasionally I hear my mom say, “Oh, that person has a good heart.” scripture starts coming to mind.

A ruler came to Jesus and called Him good. Look at what Jesus says, “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.” Luke 18:19

Was the son of God calling himself not good? No, Jesus (the son of God, the sinless manifested presence of God) was saying, since only God is good, I am God. We need to remember that our hearts can deceive us and are evil, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

We need to ask the Lord to search our hearts, ” I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:10
