“If you knew the gift of God…” John 4:10

A gift is something you receive, and you have to open it up to enjoy it. God has given you His son, Jesus Christ, as a gift. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23

As Jesus was speaking to the woman at the well, He made her wonder what gift she was missing out on.

What are you missing out on? In order to enjoy God’s gift, you must receive Jesus as your savior and seek to know Him. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Mathew 6:33

Apostle Paul’s determined desire was to know Jesus. And this should be our one desire as well.

“I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death” Phil 3:10
