Temptation

Have you ever noticed when you are trying to be good that the enemy is right there to flaunt something in front of you?

This past weekend I witnessed a man tempted by this beautiful woman. She bent over in front of him with see-through shorts. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the man turn his head to my surprise. I thought, now there is a just and blameless man.

The enemy comes to tempt God’s people. Temptation is not a sin. It only becomes a sin when you succumb to the temptation.

What can you do?

“Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” Luke 22:40 and pray the Lord’s prayer, “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ Mathew 6:13.

Get into the right state with the Lord. Ask the Lord to forgive your sins, “Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation. “Luke 11:4

Submit to God and resist the enemy (James 4:7).

Do what Jesus did, “Jesus answered him, “It is also written:” Mathew 4:7, use the power of God’s word to fight the enemy.”

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Cor 10:13

Remember, the devil does not give up. Keep yourself armed for the battle (Ephesians 6).

“When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.” Luke 4:13
