Struggling to Focus?

Do you struggle to focus or pay attention? I remember asking my daughter how her day at school was and she said the hamster made 1200 rotations in the wheel today. She was focusing, but on the wrong thing.

There are over 10.5 million Americans that struggle with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). According to the National Institute of Mental Health, “ADHD is a disorder that makes it difficult for a person to pay attention and control impulsive behaviours. He or she may also be restless and almost constantly active.” ADHD is not just a childhood disorder.

Unfortunately, it plagues many people, and it often runs in families, which makes it generational. Doctors typically treat their patients with medicine. If you or your child are on medicine, I am not advocating you go off your medicine. However, God is our great physician, and He can get to the root of the problem. Some common spiritual roots (not always the case) are rebellion, Self-rejection, self-hatred, guilt, self-esteem issues, double-mindedness and confusion.

“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:8

God desires that we be single minded and focused on Him.

To start the healing that God desires you to receive, you need to start with a prayer to break generational curses in the family line and then a renewing of the mind (train your mind to focus on what God desires).

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
