Many struggle with pornography, homosexuality, and various addictions (sex, alcohol, food, Compulsiveness, masturbation, etc.). When you cannot control the drive, or you have to put mechanisms in place, you may have a bigger issue. A friend of mine described her addiction as this uncontrollable beast. She said it controlled her life; “I planned my day around my addiction.”
The first step to freedom is turning your life over to Jesus. You need to let Him be in charge of all areas in your life (Spirit, soul, and body). A lot of times people do not find freedom because they don’t want to give up what they are doing. It is a matter of the will; a decision to stop and not go back.
Jesus came, “To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;.” Luke 4:18
Commit to prayer and fasting. “this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Mathew 17:21. “To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Isaiah 58:6
The last step is to take authority and rebuke the spirit that is controlling your life, “In the name of Jesus Spirit of alcohol, sexual perversion or addictions out. Tell it to leave and not come back.
Walk out your recovery and new life in Christ. The enemy will tempt you. Stand firm.
