They say silence is golden? When is it good to keep silent?
“He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth. Isaiah 53:7
“…Jesus kept silent.” Mathew 26:63
We see that even Jesus knew when to restrain His mouth.
Psalm 39:1-2 gives us insight on when not to speak, “I said, “I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, While the wicked are before me.” I was mute with silence, I held my peace even from good, And my sorrow was stirred up.”
