The Bible addresses every circumstance we may face. Sexual harassment can damage not only the person but also the family if we let it.
While working for the Government, I was sexually harassed. Like Joseph day after day, I went to work and refused to succumb to the harassment (Gen 39:6-23). God saw all that transpired. So did my co-workers, two co-workers reported the harassment on my behalf. It was now in the open, and I had to defend myself. What I uncovered was that the Government sexual harassment policy that I was trained on year after year was not as advertised. My family and I over the next year went through a lot of stress and anxiety. We were forced to defend ourselves as if we committed a crime. I was forced to change jobs.
However, God showed me great favor and placed me in an up and coming aircraft program. I was promoted and put in a leadership position.
God’s favor can turn everything around, “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons;” Daniel 2:20-21
Sexual harassment can lay hold on your life if you do not forgive. God is a just God and will serve justice where due.
“And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.” Mathew 6:12
“Declare me innocent, O God! Defend me against these ungodly people. Rescue me from these unjust liars.” Psalm 43:1
As I look back now, this was all in God’s plan. What was stolen, God restored for His benefit. Seven years later and multiple harassment claims filed by others; the Government was faced with the truth, and justice was served.
