What are you setting your mind on?
We are told to set our mind on things of the Spirit, “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.” Romans 8:5
What are the things of the Spirit?
- Truth (the Spirit is truth (John 16:13)). The Holy Spirit is the author of God’s word, The truth.
- Life (the Spirit gives eternal life (John 6:63))
- Wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2). Proverbs 4:7 says wisdom is a principle thing, and Job says that the Fear of the Lord is wisdom (Job 28:28)
When our minds are fixed on things of the Spirit, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit the same way Christ was.
