Seven years ago today, my husband was murdered in what The Washington Post called “a senseless shooting.” I have often pondered this statement. Since God has control of everything, was it senseless? I beg to differ with the Washington Post. It was a horrific murder and a family should not have to bear such heartache and trauma. However, we are told in scripture that we will have tribulations and we can be an overcomer in Christ.

“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.” Revelation 12:11
