Our identity in Christ is critical. We are who God says we are. Trauma, fear or a broken heart may lead us into creating a false self. An identity that is not of God. Ungodly beliefs from our childhood may feed the trauma and fear. We must bring these hurts to God and ask Him to show us the truth and lie.
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” John 16:13 NKJV
“….put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,” Col 3:10 NKJV
The battlefield is in our minds. Wandering minds are dangerous and put at risk the true self.
We are provided guidance in scripture, think on good things, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Phil 4:8.
“I will keep you in perfect peace for those whose minds are stayed on me,” Isaiah 26:3
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Cor 5:17
