Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17
The will of God is that we be sanctified, “For this is the will of God, your sanctification“. 1 Thess 4:3
As Christians there is so much that is working against us, we need to be alert. Our advisory is walking around like a roaring lion trying to devour and deceive us.
When the disciples came to Jesus and asked Him when would be the sign of His coming and the end of the world, Jesus answered, “Take heed that no man deceive you” Mathew 24:4.
The parable of the Wheat and the Tares (Mathew 13:24-30) highlighted the fact that Jesus was the sower of the good seed and satan the sower of the counterfeit; and the wheat and tares would grow together. Paul alerted us to a counterfeit Gospel, “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,” (Gal 1:6); false preachers, teachers, apostles would flourish in last days, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.” (2 Cor 11:13); and many will come in Christ name boasting to be the Christ, Anti-christ.
So you can see the importance of studying God’s Word and knowing the truth. Right before Christ was crucified, ‘Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” John 18:38
The Word of God speaks for itself, “The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.” Psalm 119:160
