I have a close friend who over the years carried bitterness in her heart. The circumstances that placed this seed in her life, you would think would be understandable. However, as the years went on, the bitterness took hold of her and branched out into resentment, and her whole being was turneddark. Depression, anger, hate and unforgiveness followed. She lost many friends and peace.

“See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” Hebrews 12:15

“And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:31-32
