Are you in right standing with God? How do you know?
“if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!” 1 Corinthians 10:12
God called Job blameless and a man of complete integrity. What were the qualifications for this? Job revered God and stayed away from evil (Job 1:8). Evil is bad nature, not as it ought to be; a mode of thinking, feeling, and acting that is wrong or wicked.
We need to find out if we are in right standing. We cannot determine this for ourselves. The Holy Spirit needs to show us.
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12
As we read God’s word and ask the Holy Spirit to show us the things that are not of God, the Lord is merciful and cleans us from all sin.
