Reverence

I was in a conference on loss last week, and the theme word was “reverence”. The speaker provided every definition of reverence, other than the one that the Bible gives; which is to have respect or fear. When you are in the midst of a loss; fear of the Lord is critical. Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Isaiah 33:6 says, “Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure.

Note it says, “the stability of your times” who doesn’t need stability or knowledge when it feels like there is nothing left to hang onto. “The fear of the Lord is His treasure.” Latch onto the treasure that the Lord has provided.
