“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.” Jer 2:13

Isreal had forsaken God and replaced Him. God calls this evil when we turn our backs on Him and replace Him with something else. The word evil is “ra” in Hebrew and is used 666 times in the Bible. Hmmm, 666 is the number of the beast (Revelation 13:8); this is a beastly mentality and foolishness.   

Watch your heart, so it does not stray and lead you to a life separated from God because its end brings destruction, “So you, by the help of your God, return; Observe mercy and justice, And wait on your God continually.” Hosea 12:6
