“Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.” 2 Timothy 3:8-9

In the last days, God says, “…perilous times will come…” 2 Tim 3:1. There are going to be those who resist the truth of God. The word resist here is only used nine times in the Bible, meaning to oppose or stand against. Jannes and Jambres were magicians. Jannes means “he vexed”, or caused trouble for God’s people, and Jambre’s name means “foamy healer”, a diviner.

God is attributing the terrible times to men. We are either on God’s side or Satan’s side.

“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve….But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
