Reaping in a Time of Trauma

Reaping in a Time of Trauma

In times of trauma, we can have a fight or flight response. But we can also have a “let the world go by” or a proactive response to heal from our trauma. God’s word talks about sowing and reaping.

If we sow in our natural response, we may decide to indulge in anything that may make us feel good in the moment, to relieve our inner pain. When this response includes immorality, the consequences can add to the trauma. But if we turn to God for guidance, help, comfort and healing, the choice will produce a better outcome.

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”  Galatians 6:7-9  NKJV
