We are encouraged by Paul to lay aside all that keeps us from bringing glory to God. “…since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” Hebrews 12:1 NKJV

In other words, get rid of the junk in the trunk. When we carry false burdens, unforgiveness, sins, condemnation, unbelief and doubt, we are weighed down, chained to this world. Jesus has set us free, delivered us from this evil world.

“who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,” Galatians 1:4 NKJV

By faith, we overcome, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Revelation 12:11

Notice we do not do this alone; no one runs a race by themselves; we have a body of Christ to stand, walk and run with us.
