Puffed Up

As I looked at my daughter’s bearded dragon I thought it looks so cute. I decided to reach into its habitat and hold it. As I put my hands into the cage, the dragon became puffed up out of fear. The dragon made itself look large. As a result, I was not able to give him love.

People sometimes exhibit the same behavior. Out of fear they make themselves look big, control situations, and reject men. As a result, they do not receive love from others or God. They let fear and pride take control.

“I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid Of a man who will die, And of the son of a man who will be made like grass?” Isaiah 51:12 NKJV

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18
