Power of Forgiveness
Each of us has a decision whether we will forgive. Many people are in a prison of unforgiveness thinking they have power by not forgiving. But when we forgive, we break out of that prison that binds us to the one who has hurt us. Unforgiveness is drinking the poison that was meant for the one who has offended us.
Forgiving is not acknowledging what was done to us is justified. But, instead it is letting it go. Only God can give us the power to forgive because it requires love. And when we face, sometimes daily, whether we will forgive, it is always good to forgive immediately before a root of bitterness takes place. Forgive quickly.
“…’Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.’”
Matthew 18:21,22 NKJV
