Packing My Bags
Because I travel quite often, I keep staples in my suitcase. These include a toothbrush, toothpaste and other toiletries. I also include extra clothes as I have forgotten to pack for an entire day in the past. I also have plastic bags to remind me to pack my shoes, a mirror and other toiletries that I place in these bags.
As we pack for our spiritual journey, what might be some of our staples that we must have on hand? If we hide God’s word in our heart, this provides what we need when we face a place of emptiness in our life. There should be certain clothes in our spiritual suitcase as Colossians 3:12, 14, tells us to wear tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering, and love.
“Your word I have hidden in my heart [my suitcase], that I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11 NKJV
