I bought a fig tree a couple of years ago.   I thought it wouldn’t make it, so I put it in my garden bed, hoping it would take root in the good soil.  Today, it is over seven feet tall and has been producing figs everyyear until last year.  It stopped producing fruit because it was overshadowed by a dead tree, and the light couldn’t reach it.   The enemy likes to do the same thing in our lives.  He wants to overshadow us with dead things, deception, and lies so we cannot see the true light, Jesus.   

In Psalm 91, the Psalmist David proclaims how God can be our shadow (Sel), defence, and protection.

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”  Psalm 91:1

God is our defence, and no matter what the enemy does, He will not be able to stop us from producing fruit if we remain in our Lord.
