Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress. It’s a feeling of fear or apprehension about what’s to come.
As I picked up my mail at the post office a couple of weeks ago, I noticed I had a letter from the IRS. I started to feel anxious and stressed. I was anticipating the worst. I pondered my actions for a minute and said, “No, I am not going to get stressed out. I know that whatever is in this letter God will help me sort it out.” Notice I took control of the feelings and thought patterns.
Proverbs 12:25 says, “Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.”
We need to take control of any anxiety so that it does not lead to depression. We need to trust that whatever we are walking through that God will work out for His glory.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.” Jer 17:7-8
“casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 NKJV
