We must be an overcomer to have eternal life in Christ.

“He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life, and he who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” Revelation 3:5, 21:7

So what do we need to do to be an overcomer?

We overcome only through Jesus Christ.  

First, you need to declare that Jesus is your savior, “confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9. You are saved now, and to remain saved, you need to abide in God, be faithful, turn from all sin and persevere.

Second, push into God and His word, “the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one.” 1 John 2:14. Notice the result: you will overcome the evil one.  

Third, commit your life to Christ, every aspect of your life and testify to what Jesus’ blood has done for you.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Revelation 12:11
