Does your child have an overactive imagination? Many children today do and they are encouraged at a young age to do so. However, what are they imagining? What are they thinking upon? Imaginary friends, magicians, fairies, wizards that cast spells, superheroes, or maybe dolls that look like no women we know.
Where is God in our children’s minds?
According to many doctors… “When children use their imagination in play they are developing crucial psychological and emotional capacities that help them understand the world in which they live and their relation to it; they are learning to solve problems, create new possibilities, even change the world.”
“And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.” Genesis 8:21
Notice God said that their imaginations are evil from youth. Their hearts become evil because they do not have God in their imagination to determine how they fit in this world…. Instead they are pretending to be superheroes, magicians, barbie dolls. Which creates an image they can never achieve.
A child that has God’s word in their heart will imagine that he is a child of God; beautiful; can do anything through God who strengthens them; and has no fear.
The consequence of our children and grandchildren not having God in their hearts…. they become obstinate, rebellious, stubborn. According to God’s word rebellion is the sin of witchcraft (1 Samuel 15:23).
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
